2025 Impact: Support Displaced and Disaster-Affected Families

In 2025, we implemented humanitarian assistance projects, funded by Burmese Relief Center Japan (BRCJ), focused on food security, emergency relief, access to safe water, shelter support, and essential healthcare services.

This intervention aimed to protect vulnerable households, reduce humanitarian risks, and strengthen resilience among displaced families and flood-affected populations.

Throughout 2025, we delivered comprehensive humanitarian assistance reaching 3726 households, including a total of  14,474 people (1,557 male and 1,685 female), in Southern Shan State. Food security remained a central priority of our intervention. We distributed 739 sacks of rice and 480 liters of cooking oil to displaced families facing prolonged food shortages. In addition, emergency food supplies were provided to flood-affected IDPs, ensuring timely access to essential nutrition during critical periods.

To address harsh weather conditions and improve protection for vulnerable individuals, we distributed 441 blankets and 225 warm clothing items to IDPs living in temporary shelters. Shelter conditions were further strengthened through the distribution of 227 tarpaulin sheets, which were used to construct emergency shelters and create temporary tarpaulin-lined water reservoirs to improve safe water storage capacity within camps.

Access to clean water remained a pressing need in several displacement sites. To mitigate water shortages, 175 truckloads of water (4000 Liters per truckload) were delivered across 7 IDP camps serving 1078 households (total population 4522 – 2179 males and 2343 females) for domestic use and safe drinking. This significantly reduced health risks associated with unsafe water sources and improved overall living conditions.

Healthcare support was also a major issue within the 2025 response. Medical supplies and essential medicines were provided to a jungle clinic serving displaced and hard-to-reach populations. In addition, a solar power system was installed to ensure reliable electricity for the clinic, strengthening its capacity to deliver continuous medical services in remote areas with limited infrastructure.

Through this integrated response, we’ve moved beyond temporary relief to long-term resilience. We are proud to have stood by these communities, providing the life-saving support and essential services they need to rebuild their lives with dignity.
