In 2022, our Humanitarian Assistance Project worked harder to support more internally displaced people experiencing long-term displacement. As humanitarian needs grew, our organization improved its response to address food shortages, lack of shelter, and seasonal protection concerns with the support of Burmese Relief Center JAPAN (BRCJ).
This year, we provided humanitarian support to 1,465 displaced households in Southern Shan State, Myanmar. Food assistance was a key focus. We delivered 788 bags of rice and 855 liters of cooking oil to families facing limited access to basic nutrition. This effort greatly improved food stability for households and reduced vulnerability in displaced communities.
Shelter assistance was strengthened through the distribution of 104 tarpaulin sheets, which were used in both emergency shelter construction and temporary lined water reservoirs to improve water storage capacity. To address cold weather conditions and enhance protection for vulnerable individuals, we distributed 500 pieces of warm clothing for adults and children, along with 730 blankets. These winterization efforts helped reduce exposure to harsh environmental conditions and improved overall well-being.
